We've been given a project called "Turning point" - which is about our vision of the 21st Century and our future.
Six Central st. Martins fashion students, all with a highly individual style, asks themselves and any other fashionsuckers if we really need all this clothing?
-We already know the answer and you do as well.. the answer is No, non, nej, nei ..
But to actually wear the same outfit for 7 days, how does that make you feel? What outfit would you pick, and why?
And then to wear 7 outfits for 1 day, how extremely annoying is this gonna be?
Then, to finish off with, wearing a plain uniform for a week.
The intention of this MESSSDup project is to question this "consumer hunger" people seem to have evolved nowadays, which is screwing up the environment and our much beloved planet. We are questioning our mentality of expressing our self better in a lot of difference ways (saying; in average a person has around 200 pieces of clothing) instead of just having your own "uniform", designed exactly after your personnel needs. A uniform/outfit that you can wear for a weeks, months ...it might even be selfcleaning!
how cool would this be...
...hereby were the MESSSDexperiment born.
